This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/. This dataset contains self-reported health-related variables in the municipal area of Bogotá, Colombia in 2021 by neighborhood, defined as Unidad de Planeamiento Zonal (UPZ or Planning Zone Units). Data were collected as part of the Multipurpose Health Questionnaire in Bogotá for the year 2021. The dataset may contain (1) missing values in variables which could be due to incomplete responses or misreporting, (2) inconsistencies in UPZ assignments if individuals self-reported locations not officially recognized or matching the geographic boundaries, and (3) potential over-reporting or under-reporting of health-related events due to reliance on self-reported data, particularly in sensitive areas like mental health or chronic diseases. Preprocessing steps included (1) verifying consistency in variable naming and domain definitions to ensure compatibility with survey structure, (2) assigning NA to variables where responses were incomplete or inconsistent (3) resolving discrepancies in UPZ identification by cross-referencing survey-reported locations with official UPZ boundaries. Where UPZs were unidentifiable, records were left with NA for "ID_UPZ" and flagged for future reference.
