Abstract

Employees--Training of Continuing education Career development
Employees expect heightened Learning and Development support from their employers to keep up with the pace of change in business. One way employers can support employee development is through the creation and maintenance of a robust learning ecosystem, which is a collection of all learning solutions and resources available within an organization. Funds4Later, a global, Mid-Atlantic organization, leverages their Learning and Development department to ensure Learning and Development opportunities are available to support employee development, which contributes to the organization's learning ecosystem. Yet, despite Learning and Development's role in creating their organization's learning ecosystem and using it for their own development, a complete map of Funds4Later's learning ecosystem did not exist, which prevented the opportunity to holistically reflect on the learning ecosystem to better support employee development across the organization. As a result, this mixed method case study used an online survey, documentation, and one-on-one interviews to generate recommendations that enhance Funds4Later's learning ecosystem based on the perceived strengths and gaps identified by Funds4Later's Learning and Development professionals, addressing key gaps in the literature on corporate learning ecosystems.
