Abstract
This dissertation probes the individual and collective influences of innovation strategy, organizational culture, management involvement, and psychological safety on the formulation and implementation of transformational innovation within the collaborative innovation framework. The guiding question is: How do these elements shape the development and execution of transformational innovation in a collaborative innovation environment? Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study prioritizes a human-centric perspective, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the variables influencing innovation outcomes. Innovation strategy is defined as an organization's strategic plan to foster and manage innovation. Organizational culture encompasses shared values and practices within an organization. Management involvement implies the active participation of organizational leaders in the innovation process. Psychological safety refers to a shared belief among employees that they can express ideas freely without negative consequences. Transformational innovation indicates significant, potentially disruptive innovations. Finally, the implementation of innovation means the practical application of innovative ideas within an organization. This dissertation offers valuable insights for organizations seeking to amplify their innovative capacity. The results underscore the importance of psychological safety and illuminate the nuanced role of management in implementing innovation. The study enriches the existing literature by offering an understanding of the dynamics of transformational innovation, providing actionable insights. It also proposes future research directions, such as an in-depth examination of management's role in implementing innovation and the conditions conducive to its success. Ultimately, this study enhances our understanding of transformational innovation, enabling organizations to become more adaptable and resilient in the changing business environment.
