Abstract
This mixed-methods program evaluation set out to determine if one Public Urban Boarding (PUB) program had value as a school choice for at-promise urban youth to aid in their becoming successful global citizens. This study was done by evaluating one PUB summer program on its effects and impacts on the at-promise urban youth that attended. The study used Robert O. Brinkerhoff's (2003) Success Case Method (SCM) design to address the fundamental questions through a distributed survey, interviews conducted, and document review. The (SCM) design was used to triangulate evaluation data from other sources, provide vivid examples that give insight into the stories behind the numbers, and educate program planners about how the intervention did or did not function as anticipated. The study findings increased the program's capacity to design and implement effective interventions.
