Abstract
The Galactic Center, home to the supermassive black hole Sagittarius A*, has long intrigued astrophysicists due to its dynamic environment and diverse astrophysical objects. High-energy gamma-ray observations by H.E.S.S. suggest sources emitting up to PeV energies, prompting searches for high-energy neutrinos to confirm hadronic acceleration. Recent high-energy neutrino emissions detected by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory from the Galactic Plane have further heightened interest in this region. This thesis presents a specialized neutrino dataset designed for the Galactic Center, optimized to detect softer spectrum sources and confined to a narrow sky region. This dataset, distinct from previous IceCube datasets, aims to achieve an elevated per-steradian event rate for the Galactic Center by excluding data from the rest of the sky, leading to a higher signal rate. This also leads to a higher background rate, therefore, to counter this, a more sensitive, time-dependent single-flare search is employed, targeting the Galactic Center, particularly for flare durations of less than one hour with a power law spectral index of 2.7.
