Abstract
Positive interactions and relationships among business organizations, team members, and consumers is a critical to the success of a product in the market, and developing platforms for fostering internal and external communication is becoming increasingly important, especially in fast-paced technology driven markets. While the emergence of online forums and social media have made business communication more accessible and easier, it has historically been difficult to ascertain if those interactions led to long-term changes in the business's products. The goal of this study was to provide insight into the dynamics of team member and customer interactions and to present strategies for how to cultivate these relationships on software project teams. Also looking into how lead users interactions in the development cycle impacted the ability for the development team to implement new ideas. This study analyzed publicly available interactions among users in open-source development projects to determine best practices for building more efficient, productive teams, achieving product development goals, and more effectively responding to market demands and customer needs.
