Abstract
PIRLA project (Paleoecological Investigation of Recent Lake Acidification), which was funded 1983-1986 through contract with the Electric Power Research Institute ($2.7 million), and later by NSF. The purpose of the project was to reconstruct recent acidification trends of acid-sensitive lakes in 4 regions of North America with investigators from 6 participating institutions.
