Coverage includes musculoskeletal, dental, embouchure, and temporomandibular joint disorders of musicians; evaluation and surgical treatment of the hand; care of professional voice users; neurological and ophthalmic problems of performing artists; hearing loss in musicians; foot and ankle problems in dancers; and reproductive disorders in female dancers. Full consideration is also given to the psychiatric problems of performing artists and the psychological development of young prodigies. An additional chapter by an attorney discusses crucial legal aspects of the medical treatment of performing artists.
