This month, Advice Guy weighs in on cell phone policies in the kitchen.
Dear Advice Guy,
I do not allow my cooks to have cell phones on the line. Never have. They are dirty, distracting, and expensive to replace when dropped in a sink or fryer.
But more and more I’m seeing kitchen tasks like inventory/ordering, following recipes, checking things off prep/to-do lists, taking photos for social, and, of course, communication, designed to happen on cells. Is it time to update/relax my policy?
