Fabry-Perot intensity modulator

Abstract
A prototype Fabry-Perot modulator, capable of handling large optical powers over a wide range of optical frequencies has been realized. The device is well suited for integration with microchip solid-state lasers. A theoretical study comparing it with the Mach-Zehnder modulator using the same electro-optic material and size revealed that the Fabry-Perot modulator has higher sensitivity and is more linear.
