Abstract
The purpose of this culminating project was to expand on the current literature on the topic of ethnoracial labels and unconscious bias, to provide another perspective to the ongoing conversation on systemic racism, and to create a call to action for present and future clinicians, supervisors, and educators to make changes that better reflect the cultural shifts in the society. It is important for all mental health providers to fully engage in the work of knowing themselves and their multigenerational history that has informed their worldview in order to humbly meet clients where they are at. Through this project I hoped to reflect and better understand my own experiences being in racialized spaces throughout my graduate program, ultimately building upon my racial identity development and exploring the impact on my emerging professional identity.
