Abstract
This culminating project focused on grant writing for a transpersonal community music therapy (CoMT) program. The goals of the proposed program were to support community agents, who may have varying types of trauma, in transitioning to various levels of persistent self-transcendence (PST). In the process of fostering PST, this program aimed to heal trauma symptoms using music therapy and/or counseling techniques. Peace activism was incorporated into the CoMT framework to aid in both fostering persistent self-transcendence and healing trauma. Various psychological measures would be utilized to assess trauma symptoms, self-transcendence, and well-being and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment activities. The grant writing process yielded connections with relevant organizations as well as a realistic direction through which to actualize the proposed program.
