Abstract
Hoarding disorder is a complex clinical diagnosis which not only affects those afflicted, but may also adversely affect family members and loved ones. There are very few studies which investigate the lived experiences of family members and loved ones of those suffering from hoarding disorder, and there is currently no research regarding arts-based approaches to inquiry. This research thesis utilized an arts-informed methodology as a means of exploring the lived experiences of these individuals. Two participants created artwork in response to the prompt; "create a message you would like to share with your hoarding loved one." Participant dialogue and visual content informed a clinical analysis of the artwork. Artistic inquiry appeared to be a useful investigational methodology when working with this population.
