Abstract
The paper establishes the position of the local arts within the new amalgamated City of Ottawa. Research of the City of Ottawa, community identity and the environment informs the Arts Master Plan, one of the growth management plans for charting a course linked to the Official Plan, the Economic Strategy and the Human Services Plan.
