Abstract
How does telling your story make a difference? This is the guiding question in my investigation into the principles of narrative therapy, how storytelling relates to art therapy, and how comics and zines are useful for mental illness de-stigmatization, community formation, and self-worth. I wanted to explore both the importance of creating and sharing stories as methods for destigmatization and how the social interaction of storytelling can enhance self-worth and build community.
