Abstract
This thesis delves into the potential of interactive art as a means for individuals with social anxiety to engage within the immersive experience. Exploring what social anxiety is as well as the various therapy methods available that can help create methods of management for social anxiety and other mental health needs. It further explores what is the concept of interactive art based on the level of interactivity. With interview-based research as to how this type of art generates a less formal experience that allows the viewer to lead their path. The overall goal being to raise awareness to the needs of social anxiety and mental health in a growing age of technology and in the aftermath of a social pandemic. It arrives to the conclusion that this might benefit a niche of people that enjoy the arts specifically, it will not benefit all. With presenting interactive art experiences to its audience as well as adapting to methods to be mindful, art organizations could take steps to provide for those with social anxiety, so they too are able to enjoy the arts.
