Abstract
This thesis explores a series of iterations of workshops teaching game development and computational thinking to students ages 10-16. Observational Notes and surveys were used to examine the confidence and engagement amongst students in each workshop to influence curriculum iterations. Results indicate the iterative process could improve the workshops through observed increased engagement and completion of student games. Effective implementations of a starter template and Use-Modify-Create highlight the effectiveness of the workshops to improve students' confidence and intentions to persist in game development.
