Abstract
This study examines DEI's impact on the arts, particularly for minority interns. It analyzes the experiences of three students and Princeton Art Museum staff and reviews literature to identify challenges faced by marginalized groups. The case study highlights the Princeton Art Museum's Museum Voices Internship, a paid summer internship for college students. The thesis underscores the need for mentorship, paid opportunities, and strategic DEI to open pathways in art careers. It questions how paid internships, and representation influences these students and highlights issues like Eurocentrism in art education. This research promotes actionable DEI steps in arts organizations and internships.
