How do LORT Theatres operating under TYA contracts balance mission, programming, and budget while building future audiences? The existing literature on the TYA movement focuses predominately on children's theatre companies. I look at three LORT Theatres as case studies to extend the current literature on the TYA movement to regional theatres. All three place significant value in instilling quality programming and emphasize the importance of providing cultural experiences at an early age. The theatres' profiled show that LORT Theatres can balance mission, programming, and budget while continuing to build a future audience.
