This study examines the effects of diversity and inclusion within the television industry and on media content that is produced. It analyzes the current thoughts and issues regarding diversity and inclusion and the possible benefits and drawbacks of increased diversity within the television industry. The thesis also explores how the lack of diversity and inclusion impacts minorities working in the industry mentally, physically, and emotionally. It then provides insight into what media leaders can do right now to combat these issues and continue to push for a more diverse and inclusive industry. The research utilizes data collected from industry professionals who identify as people of color and draws from their shared experiences working in the field as a minority.
