Abstract
Nonprofit organizations in the United States are continuously struggling to deliver their services with available resources. Many face tensions between the pursuit of their mission and maintenance of their financial viability. Similarly, foundations face an ever-increasing demand for support and are being forced to change their approach to philanthropy. By adopting new practices and developing new philanthropic models, both nonprofit organizations and foundations will be able to advance the nonprofit field as a whole and effectively play their social role.
