Abstract
The researcher sought to examine the issue of programming content demand and development stemming from the rapid rise of streaming, a technological advancement from the mid-2000s enabling consumers to view, rent and purchase television and film content 24/7. Streaming represents a truly groundbreaking change in viewership practices, attitudes, and behaviors. Streaming's rapid mainstream adoption coupled with its surge in popularity has triggered a growing demand among viewers/subscribers for new programming content. The researcher attempted to discover whether this viewing paradigm shift coincided with an increased interest in true-life and historical programming.
