Abstract

Arts--Management Community arts projects Centers for the performing arts
This research study discusses how art entities are reshaping and transforming their space or facility to reach their communities. A survey was conducted in the Philadelphia region, along with the further review of a theater and art gallery as subsequent case studies is presented. An exploration of how art entities are using their space in a more diverse fashion is explained through a progression toward how art centers function. Most art entities increasingly do not want to associate themselves as one type of art entity and they are creating more offerings. The use of their space can present many internal opportunities, or it can hinder their ability for fostering community impact.
