Television--Management Music television Reality television programs
This thesis examines the evolution of both MTV and VH1 and the way in which programming has changed across both networks from 1981 to the present day. Specific emphasis goes into the evolution of the music industry and how this is reflected within programming trends over time. Examples of these trends playing out are seen with the gradual decline in music video airing, coupled with an increase in reality-based programming.
