Abstract
This paper examines how local television coverage impacts nonprofit organizations' visibility, including the advantages and challenges they encounter in securing this coverage. Based on interviews with professionals in television, public relations, and nonprofit organizations, the study underscores the positive influence of local television coverage on nonprofits. However, it also highlights the uncertainty of this coverage, which can be preempted by breaking news. The research enhances the understanding of the dynamics between nonprofit organizations and local television. It explores the strategies nonprofit organizations use and the challenges they face in gaining media visibility.
