A generalized LS-coupling scheme for shell-model calculations and related truncation schemes
Nuclear physics. A, v 492(2), pp 215-236

Abstract
A generalized
LS-coupling shell-model formalism is presented. The construction of many-body basis states and the general form of shell-model hamiltonians in the
LS-coupling scheme are discussed. A shell-model code has been constructed to accomplish large-scale numerical calculations in such basis. As an example, wavefunctions of the Ni isotopes are analyzed in terms of the pseudo-
LS-coupling basis introduced by Arima and Hecht. There are potential applications of these techniques to other pseudo-
LS-coupling shell-models, such as the fermion dynamical symmetry model (FDSM).
