A two-coil spin flipper for beams of polarized slow neutrons
Nuclear instruments & methods, v 125(1), pp 7-8

Abstract
A simple device for flipping the spins of non-monochromatic polarized slow neutron beams is described. The advantage of this device is that it does not require the introduction of any material into the beam and thus eliminates a possible source of capture-gamma radiation and small-angle neutron scattering. The flipping efficiency for a beam of cold neutrons (mean velocity ≈ 1100 m/s) is 97%.
