Academicians as Advocates
Contemporary psychology, v 38(1), pp 78-80

Abstract
Reviews the book, Psychology and Social Policy edited by Peter Suedfeld and Philip E. Tetlock (see record 1991-98543-000). This book is an examination of the participation of psychology as a science of profession, and psychologists as scientists and professionals, in debates about the policies that might serve as the best means to desired ends. Like most edited volumes, there is many a slip between the plan and the pen, and the result is more promise than product. Most chapters are simply reviews of the literature, with only lip service paid to the policy inferences derived from that literature. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
