Alpha-deuteron cluster structure of 6Li

Abstract
It is shown that the dependence on energy and incident projectile of the
α-d cluster probability in
6Li, as obtained from quasi-free scattering (QFS) reactions, can be explained through the plane-wave-impulse approximation (PWIA) by introducing a transmission factor and using Eckart cluster wave functions. The invariant cluster probability extracted from a number of (p, p
α) and (
α, 2
α) reactions at low energy are then found to be in agreement with those from high energy QFS and transfer reaction analyses.
