Abstract
The power of mass spectrometry as an analytical technique lies in the ability of the analyst to deduce the molecular structure of the compound under study from the data collected. Correlation analysis techniques (from information theory) can be employed to enhance the quantitative information present in the spectrum, as well as aid the analyst in the interpretation of the mass spectral data.
