Assessment of a course redesign: introductory computer programming using online modules
Computing reviews, Vol.45(10), pp.660-661

Abstract
To cope with recent increases in the student population, the problems of dealing with cross-disciplinary students, and large failure and dropout rates, the authors replaced a standard C programming lecture course with one designed around WebCT. They also introduced group-based projects, and redesigned the syllabus. The effect of these educational changes has lowered the dropout rate, and, according to the authors, is cost-effective.
