Asymmetric fiber-optic coupler for LAN applications

Abstract
This paper presents experimental results of an asymmetric, effectively nonreciprocal fiber-optic coupler fabricated from unequal core diameters multimode fibers. It is shown that the nonreciprocity is due to modal dependent coupling.
