Abstract
This chapter explores the effect of a 3-day STEAM Kicks pilot program, developed by two university students, on informal STEAM education. Through the program, which incorporated sneaker design and manufacturing, we aimed to enhance K-12 students' STEAM interests and skills in a flexible, experiential learning environment. Using video observations, field notes, and reflective journals, we analyzed shifts in educators' teaching methods across two program iterations. Findings highlight improved pedagogical practices and suggest directions for future research in informal STEAM learning.
