Abstract

Citations (References) Technological Progress
A study of the patterns of secondary source citation in a sample of articles (N = 27) on the history of technology published in Technology & Culture between 1967 & 1977. Results indicate that 47% of the citations in the 22 historical articles & 100% of the historiographic citations are to secondary sources. Citation patterns are compared with previous citation studies, & the importance of a broadly based collection development policy is discussed. 9 Tables, 2 Appendixes, 32 References. Modified HA
