During the past twenty years, assessment and treatment of sex offending has become an important topic for both professionals and the general public (Koss, 1992). It is a serious and widespread public health problem that has a lasting and profound impact upon its victims (Mulloy & Marshall, 1999; Sheridan et a l., 1998). During the past twelve years at our university, we have developed two outpatient assessment and treatment programs for sex offenders. The city of Philadelphia, like many places in the USA, has a large number of sex offenders who have been released from jail and now live in the community. This paper will present a summary
of the current status and future direction of clinical research studies regarding the treatment of this problem
