The Mathematical intelligencer, v 26(3), pp 32-42
Sep 2004
Abstract
Of the surviving works of Archimedes, Rorres believes the second of his two books of On Floating Bodies is his most mature work. Rorres discusses the results of research in which he completed Archimedes's investigation to include also the more complex cases when the base of the floating paraboloid is partially submerged.
