Conformal transformation matrix for fields

Abstract

It is shown that the generic conformal transformation matrix for Lorentz-covariant fields is given explicitly by the form S 0( a, x) = exp[ f( a, x) a μ x ν M μν ], where M μν denotes the matrix generators of the SL(2, C) representation associated with Lorentz transformations and f( a, x) is a universal scalar-invariant function of the conformal transformation parameters a = ( a 0, a 1, a 2, a 3) and space-time coordinates x = ( x 0, x 1, x 2, x 3).
