Abstract
A novel technique to improve the coupling efficiency fi om a single ?mode fiber to a semiconductor waveguide is proposed. The coupling is provided by an intermediate polymer waveguide patterned atop a GaAs/GaAlAs structure. Computer simulations showed that a good coupling efficiency can be achieved with this technique.
