Abstract

Old Medline

Sites of DPNH and TPNH diaphorases in frozen sections of whole eyes of dogs, squirrel-monkeys and man were studied by incubation with 2 tetrazolium salts, nitro-B or TNBT; these included cornea, trabecular meshwork, iris, ciliary body, lens, retina, optic nerve, choroid, sclera, extraocular muscles, conjunctiva and blood vessels. Sensitivity is enhanced with TNBT, and by varying incubation times. Significance of diaphorase activity in peripheral cystic retinal degeneration in man is discussed.
