Abstract
This paper describes the concept of design tools that learn. Such design support tools acquire problem-specific knowledge as they are used. This knowledge is then reused in the solution of similar problems. The effect of this is that the tool becomes efficient with use. An example is presented to demonstrate the idea. © 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
