Abstract

When an adolescent girl has dysuria, many primary care physicians are quick to diagnose urinary tract infection. However, studies have indicated that vulvovaginitis is a far more common cause of this condition among adolescents. Dr Adler's protocol for complete evaluation of dysuria in the adolescent emphasizes the nonurinary causes.
