Journal of thermoplastic composite materials, v 7(2), pp 113-124
Apr 1994
Abstract
An analytical model to predict the effect of pre-strain on nonlinear defor mation of Reinforced Polymer/Aluminum Laminates (RPALL) is proposed. The devel oped model incorporates the constituent properties of the fiber/polymer layers and the alu minum layers and the RPALL thermal-mechanical processing parameters. The model can be applied to predict the RPALL laminate initial yielding and subsequent deformation. The theoretical predictions are compared with available experimental data for RPALL systems. Some parametric predictions for RPALL nonlinear deformation response under different pre-straining levels are also presented.
