Abstract
Electromagnetic computation is used to account for mutual coupling effects in a smart antenna system and improve the performance of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation; results of the Bartlett and multiple signal classification (MUSIC) DOA algorithms for mobile users transmitting at 1.8GHz are given.
