Electrical and Thermal Properties of Cr2GeC

Abstract
Herein we report on the 4-300 K resistivity, magnetoresistance, Hall and Seebeck coefficients and heat capacity of Cr2GeC. The results-analyzed within a two-band model-confirm that Cr2GeC is a compensated conductor where the concentration of electrons and holes are almost equal; the same is true of the mobilities. The room-temperature thermal conductivity is 22 W.(m.K)(-1); roughly half the heat is carried by phonons, half by electrons. The heat capacity results confirm previous results.
