Esophageal Disorders in Voice Patients with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

Abstract
Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) is common. It has been estimated that at least half of otolaryngology patients with laryngeal and voice disorders have LPR. The close anatomic and functionally related processes of phonation and deglutition (swallowing) led to further study that revealed esophageal disorders as cofactors in LPR patients.
