Abstract
The present study evaluates the correlation between abdominal lymph scan and histopathology of the pelvic and periaortic lymph nodes on 46 patients with established diagnosis of carcinoma of cervix. Ten of 11 negative scans and 15 of 35 positive scans were confirmed by microscopic examination. The accuracy of positive scans would have risen from 43 to 77% if certain errors could have been controlled in a prospective study. Presently, the scan is of value only when it is negative.
