Abstract
A review of the mathematical structure within and the logical relationships between classical mechanics and quantum mechanics is presented for closed physical systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom. Classical mechanics is formulated according to Lagrange, Hamilton, and Poisson, quantum mechanics correspondingly according to Feynman, Schrödinger, and Dirac. Up-to-date detail is given here for the conceptually paramount Feynman passage and “sum-over-histories” formulation for the quantum mechanics.
