Abstract
Boundary‐free fluid flow in
n
‐dimensional space features approximate symmetry under the
IGL
(n+1, R)
transformation group if the fluid motion is dominated by the inertial force. Other forces break this basic symmetry and produce equations which are invariant under subgroups of
IGL
(n+1, R)
transformations.
