Abstract
Donnelly discusses the importance of biofeedback, one of the oldest and most tested holistic interventions, in promoting relaxation by lowering one's heart rate or by increasing one's skin temperature through the galvanic skin response process. The simplest form of biofeedback is the scale in the bathroom, which offers numerical feedback on one's weight so that he can apply weight control strategies. On the Internet, he can purchase simple and relatively inexpensive biofeedback devices for his computer.
