Hydrothermal synthesis of carbon films on SiC fibers and particles

Abstract
Hydrothermal leaching was used to obtain uniform and smooth carbon coatings (thickness < 2 mu m) on the surface of SiC fibers, whiskers, platelets, and powders. The carbon film was not deposited on the surface; rather, the surface layer of SiC was transformed to C. (meeting proceedings)
